The Z06 use to have an impressive 385-405 hp. Now even the base model Corvettes are way above that. And on an engine costing basically the same. I wouldn't worry about Ford making it work, I'm sure they will.

I think Ford will put it in a car costing ~34,000 to compete with the camaro 2ss. I doubt all GT's will have it though. There is absolutely no need for them to, but I wouldn't rule it completely out.
You have some good points. I mentioned the Jag engine because it is a new engine that comes about as close as we can get to the same configuration as the 5.0 for the Mustang. Luxury cars are typically built with a higher output than the same sized engine in a regular car. Typically, but of course not always. And I think it will be a lot easier for that engine to make 400 hp than 400 ft lbs. Torque/L, while normally ignored, is rarely seen above 70 in a naturally aspirated production engine, and this engine would have 80. I'm not saying it can't happen, just that the odds are slim.

The DI 3.6 doesn't have much different than the other 3.6's that GM offers, besides direct injection of course. So its not as special as it would seem. Flip side is that the 5.0 will undoubtedly be used in the F-150 which is the best selling vehicle in the world so its not going to be a limited run.
