I don't see the 5.0 engine weighing much more or less than the current 4.6, nothing significant anyway. The rest of the car might be a different story though.
But anyway, if Jag can only manage 385/380 out of their direct injection 5.0L V8 DOHC engine, I don't know how Ford will get 400/400 in a Mustang with a very similar engine. It is not a matter of technical feasibility -thats the easy part. No, its about cost: Ford isn't going to put a $10 000 engine into a $30 000 car.
