Some other things you can do to reduce the angle is - if it has a tongue jack, you can jack that way up. Or drive the back tires of the tow vehicle up onto some boards, that will raise the front of the trailer and reduce the load angle. And get some T-hooks from a trailer supply store. That way you will be able to use the factory oval frame slots for tie down.
