I'd say that the LS3 is an LSx, but its not an LSX. Since this minor little difference can be very confusing ... I just call them Gen IV small blocks, since not all such engines have an LS designation (L99, L76, etc), and there are some Gen III's that have an LSx name (LS1, LS6)
