How often do you hear a big event described as "Its the World Series of ___ " compared to hearing "Its the Superbowl of _____ "? The Superbowl is the bigger event.

As far as spectator sports go ... the pace of action in baseball is so slow that you could probably type everything thats happening in real time, which makes it pretty boring to just watch. Football, while its a lot of stop and go, the action itself is pretty quick and dynamic. Plus, there is no way to sufficiently describe a big open field tackle.
