Statistical significance usually refers to something that is likely to happen by more than just chance. Anyways, I would be very hesitant to draw conclusions about all Volt owners being happy with their purchase based on this survey, considering this survey was only given to subscribers. Of course, only a few owned Volts and responded; this makes the margin of error in the sample noticeably large. In fact, the method used by Consumer Reports is what is termed a "convenience sample." As the name implies, it's not a random sample and is very much vulnerable to being an unrepresentative sample of the population (of Volt owners.)
