I have a lot of female friends, but they all are a lot like me - strong and independent - so we tend to think alike...
My BFF and I have been friends since I was 17 and she was 15 (we're both in our 40's now), and in ALL THAT TIME, I've only been angry at her once. Even then, it only took me a few days before I said to myself "Friends like this come along once in a lifetime, and I have to let this go, it's not worth losing her over" We have vastly different lives and lifestyles, but I love her with all my heart - she's honestly the ONLY person I would literally DIE for.
Sarah, this woman was never truly a friend if she feels that there is some sort of competition between you (that's really what jealousy is). I hope that, with your professional growth and new activities that are going along with it, you will be able to meet some real friends. And, you should know this ----- you have real friends here.
