I agree on the move on theory. It's the best approach. Go find a girl to hang with. Even if you have to pay for it. Let the ex know you still care but don't act desperate. Girls hate desperate guys. They need to feel like they are chasing you. If they feel like they have you wrapped around their finger, they lose interest. In most but not all cases.
Btw, I don't know that I would want to be with someone that can't wait another 4 or 5 days to drop the bomb. You may consider yourself lucky in this case. Just my opinion.
