Talk about dealer hanging on the cars, there was a local P-B-GMC dealer here who often had 1, 2, 3 and even 4 yr old new cars/trucks on his lot or stashed inside his big building. He was a stubborn old coot, would never take a loss on anything. It was always said about them that they would never sell anything unless the made a $$. When he finally retired about 2004ish at 70 yrs old he sold his franchises to a local Chevy dealer for $100,000 each. I know the owner of the Chevy dealer who bought him out (cars and parts) and he said they had parts so old they could not figure out what they fit. He was sitting on a 4 yr old 2000 Park Ave in storage, he kept it. One of his sons took a 2 yr old GMC truck and his granddaughter (only one in the business who ran the office) got a Grand Am. They also had a GTO but I don't know what happened to that, I was offered it at a bargain price by my friend the Chevy dealer. They said GMAC never had any interest in his floor plan, all financed by him and the local bank which he was on the board of. He was a GM dealer since the 1950's, and he never had a GM sign anywhere on his lot in my lifetime. He went to high school with a person who was very high up in Buick management so they left him alone. They say he sold a lot of vehicles over the years and he was always the only salesman.

He was the salesman, one son ran parts and service, other son was a tech, his grandson was a tech and his granddaughter ran the office. He would never touch a computer. I tried to buy a truck from him once, it was a ordered vehicle and he had to make $1000 over invoice or no deal.
