The idea of LEDs in the headlights arent to illuminate your way, but to rather make yourself more visable. the human eye is naturally attracted to light so it will notice those things more often be it day or night. the question is which country mandated 24 hour lights first? several european countries require you to have lights on day and night. Germany is just coming into this requirement. the problem is bulbs burn out faster if you leave them on all the time. so to overcome this short life span Audi is now placing LED lights to run day and night because you measure LED lifespan in years not hours like conventional bulbs. it just so happens that they are using the requirement for the better and making the cars look wicked at the same time.
