Remember that if the time comes, your body will be dumping adrenaline at an unprecedented rate. You'll likely have tunnel vision and any action you haven't completely built into muscle memory will be lost.

I do hope you'll eat a Saturday some day soon and get your permit. Get a nice Crossbreed SuperTuck holster if you want to carry in-waistband or a Serpa for outside-waistband and add to the population of law abiding, lawfully armed citizens. The more the better and ALL the stats back that up, and it makes your weapon instantly functional and reachable when it's not seconds that count, but fractions of a second....God forbid.

ETA: And just for discussion's sake, not every state has a duty-to-notify clause. In VA, we are not obligated to disclose the possession of a weapon carried by permit, and in most cases the police know when they approach the vehicle because our licenses are flagged so when they run your plate, they'll back trace it to the registered owner.

I'll eventually get my permit, just never had a reason to carry on my body. Most crimes here happen at red lights, in car, and etc. For some reason I'm edgy when my gun is chambered, I bet it can make a world of difference when an attack happens and victim gun is chambered or not. I'm really digging how the guy posted a picture of the holster under the steering column, might steal that for myself.
