He is quoting the factory EPA highway rating. So don't act like your car is some fuel sipper, because your 2005 Mustang GT was rated 15 mpg/ 23 mpg (stock) by the same EPA standard that rated the C6Z06 at 14 mpg/ 24 mpg (stock). www.fueleconomy.gov

But if you want to talk real world, observed cruising, a Z06 can easily get 26-28 mpg, some guys even claim 30 mpg but I haven't been able to do it.

Also, it's a 7.0L engine on top of everything else that still gets better fuel efficiency than an engine that is 2/3rds its displacement
