That's how it's going to go, I'm afraid. But using direct injection and computer controls..you can have a beast motor. Just look at the DOHC DI 6 that's in the LS/LT?
If you can push 305 out of a NA 6.. imagine what you can do with a DOHC DI V8? Can anyone say 505 NA Horsepower that gets 26/33mpg. That sort of thinking = "Screw CAFE."
If they bump it again, engineering to the rescue. It's about time engineers pushed the envelope for a big "lolcongresslookitwedidscrewCAFE".
