They've actually gone down quite a bit, now. YOu can sometimes find rotors on the Vette forums for about 1200 bucks a pair if memory serves. But yeah, the carbon ceramic is supposed to last for the life of the car if you drive them like a normal person.
Of course, the 'burnishing' process you have to do when you get the car is also really fun...
