There have been multiple reports that the manual ECO can get 50+ mpg if you drive around 50mph or slower. If you're driving 80 or something that might be the issue.
I test drove an Eco for probably 10 miles around town and got 30mpg in stop and go.
My sister has an Eco with the automatic. She really likes it so far. It's the best Cruze to buy IMO because the wheels are very nice plus the extra MPG. I guess I would pick the LTZ over it, but not for the price.

They last two trips we took were all Hwy miles with interstate speed of 70 mph and about 60 miles of 55 mph. I took it back to the dealer and explained the situation. They said they couldn't find anything wrong. They also told me hey 32 mpg is not that bad. I said no it's not, unless it supposed to get 10 mpg better. Thats a 25% reduction to me thats unacceptable. On the exact same trip in our Camaro SS with 8 cylinders and over 400HP we got 26 mpg only 4 mpg less than the Cruze Eco.
