Considering they sold a first part of their collection on Jan 17, I think they are getting rid of more cars because they are broke and some of them they don't need around anymore. They sold a 1991 Saturn SL1 for $3,850.00 in Jan and i dont think that one will be missed too much.

Edit:After reading the article it looks like GM has diverted some cars from the scrap pile to the auction block.
"But as the economy spiraled downward last year, GM officials realized that instead of sending the vehicles to the scrap yard, they could make money auctioning them off."
