But I still have sleep apnea....so bad that during a surgery in 2005, I went in respitory failure and almost didn't come back.....No more normal anisthesia for me, it will shut me down (flatline). Also a current bi-pap user!

There are also risks with that too. I served with a guy that had such sever sleep apnea that he had to get a custom air compressor for his CPAP machine. He needed +50 lbs of air, I only need 15 lbs. They did that surgery, and something went wrong. He went on leave and flew home and he started bleeding form his ears, nose and eyes mid flight. I forget what he said happened but, the end result is that he can't depressurize/equalize??? He cant fly any more because the change of altitude/air pressure...he says that the pain and pressure was unreal! true story the guy was a submariner, had to get out the service because the pressures change while submerged.
