IMO, it's perfectly fine if you have a preference for one brand over another. That being said, I do think it is an issue when those preferences are not a result of a personal experience with a brand but rather something that has simply been passed on it them by someone else. ( i.e. My grandfather owned Fords, my dad owned Fords, and therefore I will only buy a Ford.)
