After 25 years of police work and a multitude of gun experience I can vouch for whatever model of a Glock .40 cal that you feel comfortable with shooting and holding. Point and shoot...no brainwork involved. And after seeing so much of the results first hand of what such a gun/round can to a person I can recommend it from that end too (with hollow points). We used black talon rounds...and they turn into a buzzsaw inside a victim. I've followed their path at the post mortem exams and was very impressed with the damage inflicted by flattening out and bouncing around through the organs instead of just passing through the body. As a department armor I can also vouch for the guns dependability and ease of maintenance. The only one I saw that was non functioning was after a severe plane crash. They're so easy to work on that even a cave man could do it!
