I've driven many cars with newer, high horsepower V6s. They prove that there is no replacement for displacement. I don't care if it does have 300+ horsepower, if it is constantly bogged down because it as no torque, but is geared as if it does, it is going to "feel" like a 100hp economy car most of the time, regardless of its horsepower rating.
By the way, what is the shift pattern going to look like with 7 forward speeds? 6 gears already fills up the H.

my feelings exactly. i dont want to buy a corvette that runs like a ferrari. i want a corvette that runs and sounds like a corvette. i say stick with 6 speeds and keep displacement. i believe companies today are capable of squeezing out good HP numbers and good MPGs
