I haven't heard anything about yellow spots. I'm pretty in the know I think on the iPhone too, I frequent an iPhone forum a few times a day too. I had an issue with mine when u first got it, it would take yellow-ish pics with the flash on. My wife has one too and gets would not do the yellowish thing mine did. I took a pic of a white ceramic plate with both phones, low light condition, flash on. Hers looks bright white, mind looked yellow. I took it to the apple store and they replaced my phone. I knew what the problem was, her led flash was a whiter color than mine. I did have an issue kinda like your describing now that I think about it. It was a case I was using and the hole that the flash shines through, was too small. Check that.
