I'm a member a large 1st Gen club and there are several of us that have 5th Gens as well. We try to keep the club strictly related to 1st Gens as much as possible and the 5th Gen is the only other generation that gets talked about with our club. Anytime new info about he ZL1 comes out it gets posted throughout our group. Everyone in our group that I've talked to respects the 5th Gen. I aways tell people they are two completely different cars and I can honestly say that right now I don't know which one I would give up first if I had to.
That being said my '69 gets WAY more attention anywhere it goes compared to my 2010.

Agreed. Some of the nicest car people I know are 1st Gen owners. I wave at any year Camaro out when I'm in my '69 or '11. Its ashame that one idiot out of a thousand nice 1st Gen owners can smear the image of the community

I'd be careful about lining up to some 1st Gens with a stock 5th Gen. You might be in for a surprise
