"Fulminant" means burning of a sort. People use it in a figurative way when speaking of a 'hot tempered' person. Fulminate of Mercury is a classic component of detonators in high explosives.

Pool is commonly referred to as "pocket billiards". Pool table and Billiard table are frequently used interchangeably. I am assuming from your response, that you are looking at specifics of the rules of the game. Pool and 8-ball have the goal of putting specific balls (stripes or solids) into the pockets. Based on your rejection, I am guessing that you are referring to a form of bumper game similar to snooker, where the goal is to either strike certain balls or certain bumpers? I am not as familiar with the rules behind those, as I generally played more standard pool games, 8-ball, 9-ball, suicide, etc.
Dunno if I am on the right track or not. If looking for additional rules for the game, I wouldn't be able to provide them without looking them up (going against the spirit of the challenge here
) ... though someone else may be able to pick up where my lacko knowledge begins. Can always leave it up for a bit longer to see if others give better descriptions.
