Never did understand the blurring of license plates, serial numbers, when they can be plainly seen while driving and at the gun shop. Maybe someone online will do the research to find out where you live, but then again, someone locally will already have that information.
In short, while all preventive measures help, like a garage and gun safe, nothing is fool proof. IMHO anyway.
