Should have been stated as "outrun most cars". As for the ability to ride above 8/10ths of the handling of a bike, it is a much finer line when pushing a bike than a car. Cars are much more forgiving when the line between skill or conditions is crossed.
"A man's got to know his limitations" and that of his equipment as well!
