Okay, fellahs, let's see: "Cheval" does indeed mean horse in French. The word "saddle" does mean a seat for riding upon a horse in English (the French word for saddle is la selle), and the word "cheval is not a word in English. The rule says that words may have an origin from other languages, but foreign words per se are not permitted in our game.

As to the new word "hoarse", it means to have a a distortion of sounds that emanate from the throat as the result of an accumulation of fluids, mucus, or inflammations in or around the larynx. Interestingly, the French would describe this situation as one where "On a avalé un chat." Which means where one has swallowed a cat!
