I stand corrected; NC does not specifically have any laws on transporting firearms in a vehicle. The law simply states that it may not be concealed (w/out a permit) and it may not be within the easy reach of an occupant of the vehicle. I just remember being told that w/out the permit, firearms must be kept in plain sight, and should be unloaded.
