Commiefornia will not allow you to carry nor honor CCW's from other states. It pretty much takes an act of a deity to get a CCW in this Godless state. Each county Sheriff controls who can get one, and I don't know of any that are willing to sign off on one for a common citizen. There are "guidelines" for getting one, but I have only seen 1 average joe get one, and again, it was restricted to our county.

If I could, I would. States that allow people to act responsible have far fewer random acts of stupidity. A little common sense goes a long way, unfortunately, it has gone a long way away from far too many.

If you can take the course, by all means take it. You do not have to carry if you don't want to, but it will allow you the ability when you do. If you are not comfortable with the firearm, DO NOT CARRY IT. Spend time at a range, pay for private lessons, take firearms defense courses, etc. When you are comfortable, go for it. But if you don't take the course, you won't have that option.

Check out Front Sight. They have a free email list that will send you "training tips" and videos. Unfortunately, they also solicit quite a bit, but you can quickly figure out which emails to delete and which ones to read.
