A few weeks back I attended Ferrari vs. Lamborghini day at SupercarSunday in Woodland Hills, CA. It was quite the event as over 1,000 cars showed. There was a great mix of everything present as is typical in these type of gathering around so cal.
Supercar Sunday is a weekly show much like Cars and Coffee, the difference being that Supercar Sunday holds a marquee day at the end of the month and actively works to invite people to the event. Supercar Sunday is held in a mall parking lot and thus has almost unlimited show space. They also have sponsors and booths at the event. While, Cars and Coffee is purely word of mouth and when ever there is a marquee day it is because that group as asked to have the day. The organizers of the original Cars and Coffee don't promote the event themselves and just leave everything to be word of mouth. While Supercar Sunday organizers try to promote their event to get the most publicity and cars to show up.
Anyways, back to the event: The day was a gloomy day and there where spotty showers all around So Cal. It was a very strange day weather wise, with unusually tropical weather. But I still soldiered on to the event. I was immediately in awe as I saw they had a Zonda R up on a tow truck waiting to be uncovered. Right across it sat a Lamborghini 400GT, a Diablo SVR, and two Miura S's. Disappointingly probably due to the weather on the Lambo side the only things really note worthy where a 599GTO and a Ferrari F40. The rest of the lot was equally full of surprises with 3 Z8's, 4 Kurtis 500's, 2 Morgan Aero's, 2 Ultima GTR's, THE GTO that started it all, a GT2RS, Renault R5 Turbo 2, RS200 replica, as well as a Moto Morini.
