I say text him and ask him a question, then after he answers text him something like, " By the way, my real name is Nick.
" And then just drop it from there and don't give him a hard time about it.
I've had times where I have forgotten people's names that I recently met, but I don't wanna ask, " Whats your name again? ", because it will be awkward. So if I end up getting their number, I'll just ask, "How do you spell your name?" while I'm putting in their contact information, or I'll just listen for when someone calls them by their name.
