Driver actually violated procedure by swerving to only hit the front fender. If someone pulls out in front of you and you have no chance of stopping in time, we are actually told in training to ram the car head-on.

. Seriously though, they taught us not to touch the brakes til you hear a bang or a thud (depending if its a car or a person). If its a deer or anything else..... just keep going. Although if its a deer, you'd never know it unless you saw it, don't feel a thing and rarely hear anything from it.
