Pit bulls have a bad reputation for a reason…period. Is it the breeds fault? No. If I’m walking my dog and a pit comes running around the corner unrestrained; I’m picking my dog up. No questions asked.
Would I own a pit if I lived with kids and had no other pets? Yes. Would I own two pits at the same time? Hell no, never. For the reason you described in the opening post. One minute they have acceptable behavior and the next they are trying to kill each other. Then the switch is turned off and they are ok with each other again.
It is good that there are people out there who care about the breed and want to change their reputation to something better. But IMHO, it is too late. Social media has shown every bad dog owner what kind of dog to get and sadly, it was the Pit Bull.
