If he gave the cashier the $10, It wouldn't have been 5 ones... It would have been 3 and a hand full of change! he gave what I presume as a ten dollar bill, a one and then 47 cents to obviously get a 5 back.
and maybe he didn't need any more ones.
It's the same at a restaurant. If your bill is say $31.50 and you give them two twenties, a one and two quarters and the bring you a five and five ones back... Dumbasses
