When were you born 1985? The Z28 was the big dog from 67 to 71. After that no Camaro was a big dog because chevy engineers hadn't figured out how to work with the new smog regulations. The 78 and 79 Z28's I had were nothing more than decals, scoops, spoilers and fat sway bars--no power and only slightly better handling. I stopped caring about the Camaro until the SS came out in the early 2000's.
Currently the SS is the Big Dog of Camaros, when the ZL1 and Z28 come out we'll be # 3 on the list, but that's a pretty good list to be on.
