Well, the actual issue at risk here was free speech. California seemed to think that games were not protected by the First Amendment, which the Court just ruled they are thankfully. Mostly, I think this was just an attempt by California to rake in more revenue from fines for stores selling violent games to kids. Though really, that revenue wouldn't have been much, as just about every store I can think of WILL NOT sell a mature rated game to a kid anyway. It's the parents that but these games for the kids that are the problem, and Cali's law wouldn't have done anything to change that.
