Take the issue to the local unemployment office; it can't hurt. If ya' need to go on to the Labor Relations Board (it sounds more grand and intimidating than it really is), present your situation politely (like you always do on this forum) with verve and spirit. 
You may well succeed in obtaining your compensation checks for the duration of the pause in school district work. Being without a job, and its commensurate paycheck, at any time, is to be unemployed.

Tried it years ago, Since we get paid 12 months, (they divide our pay checks 180/12) so we get some of our money during the summer months, But this year I dont since I was out on L&I for 3 months
