Have you ever tried drawing unemployment insurance during this seasonal interruption of work? You have, after all, paid hella money inta' that unemployment insurance pool over the years to the tune of MANY thousands of dollars. You DESERVE to be compensated, now!
Take the issue to the local unemployment office; it can't hurt. If ya' need to go on to the Labor Relations Board (it sounds more grand and intimidating than it really is), present your situation politely (like you always do on this forum) with verve and spirit.
You may well succeed in obtaining your compensation checks for the duration of the pause in school district work. Being without a job, and its commensurate paycheck, at any time, is to be unemployed.
