If the street racer challenged an unmarked, I would say it is a very safe bet that it was an unmarked "performance" car like a Charger, Mustang, Camaro or Challenger.

they've got chargers like that in the woodlands, tx area too, with rims, everything blacked out (taillights are LED with black plastic housings) and mild body kits. im pretty good at picking out cop cars even if they are stealthy like that, but i really wasn't sure until i passed him and saw that it said Constable in black reflective vinyl on the side.
they are getting sneaky, BUT, at the same time, some of these "unmarked" cars have huge noticeable lights on the license plate bracket or in the grille, etc. so they kind of ruin the point of having an unmarked car.
