Also make sure you log out. Don't just close the window or go to another site. This keeps your account logged in and makes it easier to hack.
Another thing is, are you using another site or program to view the e-mails? For example, google has some gadgets that will allow you to check your hotmail without actually going to hotmail. These gadgets are easily hacked and someone can get your info that way to.
