Yep it's a blue Challenger I'm talking about. Very cool cat owns that car and we've become great friends. I flew out to Houston in March to pit crew on his car at the TX Mile. He ran a best of 175.6MPH if memory serves. Pretty amazing to see that considering a Lambo could barely hit 168. He's going for 180 in October.

He's trying to talk me in to bringing my car out there to run the mile with him. I may end up getting out that way sooner or later.

11.63 is a great time, especially if you don't have much money in the car. I assume it's a 5.0 auto trans car? Sometimes I wish mine was auto as it'd be much easier to go fast, but I like shifting gears on the street. What have you done to it? One thing about Mustangs, you can mod them up pretty cheap. In the HEMI world I'm learning everything is expensive.

I put the money in mine more to be bullet proof (I'm an engineer) than to be fast. I just didn't wanna have to worry about anything when I mat the fun pedal. The ring lands in these stock HEMI engines are quite thin and tend to go pop with some frequency. Seems the rings heat up and expand...ring gap closes...ring bends up....snaps off the edge of the piston(s). No bueno.

I run 11.80ish without trying too hard. A bit faster shifts and I'm in the 11.50s If I ever figure out how to do a decent burnout in this manual trans car (no line lock) I might can get in to the 11.40s.
I believe I saw it run out thee in March. Friend of mine took his 2011 out and ran it. I tagged along. I am planning to run mine there in October.

My car is a manual as well. I am running into a traction issue myself and am looking at going to a 10" rim with a full slick. On that 11.68 run my 60' time was a 1.68 which is terrible. Should be cutting mid-1.5's. That would drop my ET a couple of tenths. Corrected time for the DA looks like 11.29@121. Wish we had more than 2 months a year with decent air here.... I think the car has some low 11's in it. I would be ecstatic to get a high 10 however that will take all the planets/stars, etc. lining up in the galaxy I believe.

Power mods:

Boss intake
Airaid CAI
O/R x-pipe
BBK shorties
Tune

Supporting mods:
Alum. D/S
Alum. flywheel with twin disc clutch
Barton shifter
CHE suspension/chassis upgrades
Magnaflow cat-back (no power gain to be had on these with a cat-back)

Car has put down 450WHP with mentioned mods. I shift at ~7,700RPM.

Dyno sheet:

11.63 pass:

I took our Challenger out early this year and ran a best of 13.4@104 bone stock. It is an auto. Has a canned Diablo tune and muffler deletes on it now. I had plans to mod it but decided against as it is my wife's primary car and she really doesn't care how fast it is. Use it as a family hauler primarily.
