I believe I have seen the Challenger you speak of. Blue if not mistaken and from the Houston area. I own a Challenger as well and love it. Great car.

That all said, I extend the same invitation for you to come to Texas and line up. I have about 1/4th the money put into mods that you do and am positive I would come out ahead. Best time to date has been 11.63@118 with a DA of 2,500' above SL.

Just some friendly bantering.
No worries

Yep it's a blue Challenger I'm talking about. Very cool cat owns that car and we've become great friends. I flew out to Houston in March to pit crew on his car at the TX Mile. He ran a best of 175.6MPH if memory serves. Pretty amazing to see that considering a Lambo could barely hit 168. He's going for 180 in October.

He's trying to talk me in to bringing my car out there to run the mile with him. I may end up getting out that way sooner or later.

11.63 is a great time, especially if you don't have much money in the car. I assume it's a 5.0 auto trans car? Sometimes I wish mine was auto as it'd be much easier to go fast, but I like shifting gears on the street. What have you done to it? One thing about Mustangs, you can mod them up pretty cheap. In the HEMI world I'm learning everything is expensive.

I put the money in mine more to be bullet proof (I'm an engineer) than to be fast. I just didn't wanna have to worry about anything when I mat the fun pedal. The ring lands in these stock HEMI engines are quite thin and tend to go pop with some frequency. Seems the rings heat up and expand...ring gap closes...ring bends up....snaps off the edge of the piston(s). No bueno.

I run 11.80ish without trying too hard. A bit faster shifts and I'm in the 11.50s If I ever figure out how to do a decent burnout in this manual trans car (no line lock) I might can get in to the 11.40s.
