Not necessarily true. The reality is that in most cases, they give you a huge fine, impound/tow the car, and usually they send you on your way.
I've seen people drive their car home from things like this too...
In fact, there's a video of a moron doing 130+ on the highway, getting nailed, and not only getting the ticket dropped to a lesser speed, but the guy drove his car home to boot...
Yeah, he may have an advantage since he's a celebrity, but even normal folks don't get hit that hard by this.....
