So I get a call from the girlfriend this morning. She starts asking me how long she needs to go before getting an oil change in her Ford Ranger. Keep in mind this is someone who knows almost nothing about her vehicle, so I end up taking care of this thing by proxy. Knowing that the spec on oil changes for her truck is 5k and she had gone 8k once before I asked the dreaded question "how many miles since your last oil change?" Her response to this question was 15,000 miles

So at this point I'm completely livid knowing that the 15,000 figure is three times past Ford specs. I go off the deep with lots of swear words
and tell her she needs to take it to a dealer on her next day off if not during her lunch hour. So at this point she says to me that she thinks 1,500 miles has been a really short period of time since her last oil change and asks why I'm so mad.
So it appears we were off one digit......the sad thing is I wouldn't be surprised if she did something like this and went 15,000 miles. I love her but she wonders why I never let her near my Camaro.
