You're missing the point. The Volt is a commuter car that offers you the flexibility of a longer trip. Most people aren't going to use it as their sole car, although again, it does offer you that flexibility if you want.
Your commute distance is in the minority. For a commute such as yours, the 2013 Malibu ECO or Cruze ECO would be a better fit.

im not missing anything i dont think, the gas motor operates above 70 mph right so the electric motor is null is this example right? i dunno if this is the correct info or not.
