I guess it's just suppose to be a step in reducing dependability in foreign oil. Not a huge step but at least we now have the technology to get there very soon.
I think it's a very good car for an average commute. 40 miles or less

im just curious if its a false step....my commute from boise to mountain home is 58 miles and i drive that twice a day for 5 days a week and what if i want to take a vacation, buy another car? Im driving at least 75 on the interstate because thats the speed limit here and if i read right someone stated that the gas motor is running above 70mph right? i couldnt agree more about it being a small step but i still think the technology needs to be researched and improved before we even consider this as a replacement just like with every new product that comes out of the factory rushed, its going to have glitches. id rather wait and see how the ultimate hybrid or w/e comes out is, and like fen said you can get a malibu that accelerates as the same rate and still get about the same in mpgs and still be cheaper.
