I understand the connection to the countries history the Royal Family provides. It would be very hard to kick that to the curb. And in the end it really doesn't cost them that much...............unless the alternative is to lease out Buckingham Palace to some rich Saudi Prince, LOL
I think a lot of American women would like to be a princess and there is a bit of romantacism in that proposition.
