Before someone says it, I have not forgotten the New Charger. Dodge can get away with it because they Don't have any to match the:
CTS-V Coupe
CTS-V Sedan
Corvette ZR1
Corvette Z06 (The Viper is.......What is the current status?)
Camaro ZL1
With CAFE you will only be able to get V-8. If it fits One or More of the Following:
Impractical for most buyers with a family (Coupe 2+2)
Very Impractical (2 Seater Coupe)
Starting price of $50,000+
Limited Production
Ford already has an Ad about their Direct Injected V-6 with ECO Boost that provides V-8 Power in the F-150.

I think you are being too gloomy and doomy. This isn't the 70s, todays tech can allow V6s to get over 30 MPG highway. In midsize sedans the V6 is still viable with a high MPG 4 banger (remember the 4 bangers FAR outsell the V6s). As for FOrds ecoboost, IMHO, a lot of hype for not enough gain. The Hemi Rams get 20 MPG Highway compared to the Ecoboosts 22 MPG (both 2wd models). Heck even the 5.0 in Fords F-150 is rated at 21 MPG. I think V8s will stick around for a bit longer, just with a lot more tech and smaller displacements. As for the Vipe, late 12 as a 13 model, mules on the previous chasis/body have already been spotted testing the new Stability programs.
