Both cars clearly have struggles with the manual transmissions, but Ford may be having more trouble since they used the trans in both V6 and V8 cars, a real disadvantage to that decision. In the long run if they ever get it resolved, the advantages listed are good ones.

Getrag units are better trans in most cases. Just not this one I suppose. Ever drive a BMW with one? I have and its glorious.
