Wankles are way simpler than a reciprocating piston engine. They've only got 1 moving part for what is equivalent to a bank of 3 cylinders.

Yep, a rotary rebuild can be done in a matter of a few hours with the right garage and a few friends. Good thing too, as they like to blow apex seals fairly often.
