I'd love to help you out...but I don't really know the first thing about RAM, ROM, intel, NVIDIA, etc on computers. All I know is that our new HP Pavillion is the sh!t. I've never used a computer as fast as this one. Every time I click on the mouse and bring my hand back to the keyboard, the page has loaded and is ready for me to type. This thing loads like you wouldn't believe....programs start up in no time at all. Our deal was $1,000 and is a bit more than your budget, but the main reason we got this computer??? My wife wants to be able to play games that don't lock up on her cause the computers slow.
That and the old computer is just that...old. Memory full, etc, etc, etc. This is a great comp for games. If you're interested, I can get the model # and everything else for you. We bought it at Sams club. Worth looking into.
